Yolonda + Clinton | August 24, 2024 | Memories Are Forever
Every wedding tells a unique story, and Yolonda and Clinton’s was nothing short of magical. Their day was filled with heartfelt surprises, meaningful traditions, and a deep sense of love and community.

Initially, Yolonda and Clinton had different ideas about having a wedding. Yolonda leaned toward a courthouse ceremony, while Clinton dreamed of a full celebration. Looking back, they are both so grateful for the day they shared. Yolonda found a dress that made her feel beautiful, and Clinton couldn’t have been happier.
One of the most emotional moments came when Yolonda surprised Clinton with a call from his father, who couldn’t travel from Louisiana for health reasons but still delivered a heartfelt toast. Clinton was also stunned by another surprise—a vintage Rolls Royce getaway car, a thoughtful touch from Yolonda. When Yolonda walked down the aisle, Clinton’s tears said it all. The couple chose not to do a first look, making the moment even more special.
Their floral arrangements were another stunning surprise. Yolonda, captivated by Carolyn of Wild Ginger Weddings long before she was even engaged, put complete trust in her vision. The result was breathtaking—an artful blend of Yolonda’s love for dark, moody tones with Clinton’s preference for bright, lively colors.

A deeply touching moment during the ceremony was when their wedding rings were passed through the audience, allowing every guest to offer a silent blessing before they exchanged vows. It was a powerful reminder that their marriage was not just about them, but about the love and support of their friends and family.
For couples planning their own wedding, Yolonda and Clinton offer this advice: Stay true to your vision, even if it doesn’t align with others’ expectations. Choose a venue with a great team, because event staff can truly make or break the day. Most importantly, enjoy the process and each other. They also recommend delaying the honeymoon—after all the excitement, they found a short “minimoon” to Memphis was the perfect way to rest and recharge before planning a longer getaway.
Most of their guests traveled from out of town, making their celebration even more meaningful. It was not just a wedding, but an opportunity to share the charm of St. Louis with their loved ones. Interestingly, they first attended the Saint Louis Bride Wedding Connection before they were officially engaged! Yolonda, initially hesitant as a first-time bride at 48, was delighted by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. They found several of their key vendors at the show, including their photographer, who perfectly captured their most intimate moments, and their caterer, whose incredible menu left guests raving. The couple also connected with a fantastic event planning team that helped bring their vision to life. Yolonda encourages other couples to attend, even if they’re just considering marriage—it’s a great way to explore options, get inspired, and meet vendors who truly understand your vision.

Yolonda and Clinton’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, individuality, and community. Their story is a testament to embracing the unexpected, staying true to what matters, and savoring every heartfelt moment along the way.
