Chevrons, Quatrefoils, and Stripes… Oh My!

By Saint Louis Bride

Patterns are popping up in weddings

Patterns are a beautiful way to add some color and spark to your wedding. Stripes have been popular for sometime in weddings. Striped invitations, striped cakes and even a lovely striped bow in the bridal bouquet add a modern twist to your wedding.

Chevron is increasing in popularity among more than just brides. The zigzag pattern is common in interior design, showing up on curtains, rugs and throw pillows. Now chevron is making its way into fashion and, of course, weddings. Chevron napkins and other table linens add a pop to your tables. Like stripes, chevron is used beautifully with stationary and cakes.

The symmetrical leaves of the quatrefoil often are used in stationary. It is a beautiful, elegant way to add color and can be used with both contemporary and traditional weddings. Quatrefoil also is showing up in jewelry, in both engagement rings and wedding bands. A quatrefoil bracelet or a quatrefoil lace clutch are lovely accessories to your gown.
