YOUR WEDDING DAY WILL BE A DAY FULL OF LOVE AND BEAUTY – a truly magical moment in your life. I like to think of myself as a wand-waving fairy God-mother who, wielding her wand (aka paintbrush) adds a bit more magic to your day by capturing that moment in a painting. There are so many ways to make your day lovely and memorable, filled with personal touches and one-of-a-kind flair. Adding art, in one way or another, to your wedding is one of the best ways to do just that!

Idea no. 1: Custom Cocktail Signs
Custom Cocktails are on the forefront of my favorite wedding trends. Just like a quality cocktail is complemented by a colorful garnish, a cocktail illustration or recipe card is a great way to give your signature drink the attention it deserves. Not to mention, you can get them printed on just about anything to add to welcome bags for out of town guests, or even as thank-you notes post wedding. These signs look amazing in a gold frame near your wet bar or in your kitchen, something to always remind you of the high-spirited wedding day of your dreams.

Idea no. 2: Frameable Table “Numbers”
Who’s counting tables anymore anyway? Have a local artist work with you and your planner to come up with an alternative to table numbers! I recently did a collection of 20 herbs, each representing a different table. The couple is now using them for a gallery wall in their kitchen. Iconic St. Louis locations, a map, or your favorite Star-Wars characters are all ideas I can imagine sitting pretty on both tablescapes and hanging on a wall in your home, post-wedding.

Idea no. 3: Live Art
This one is most near and dear to my heart, since I am a live wedding painter. Having live art at your wedding can look any way you want it to. I have done everything from custom fashion sketches for guests to painted florals and cityscapes. By far, my favorite offering is to live paint your wedding, your magical moment, as it transpires. Couples usually opt for me to capture the first dance, but I have painted many different perspectives and moments over the past year. Live art at your wedding can be whatever you want it to, from a dramatic abstract painter to a caricature sketch artist. I have found that guests absolutely love interacting with and seeing the live art develop over the course of the evening.
Weddings and art have these things in common: They are one-of-a-kind, they encapsulate true beauty, and they are cherished for years to come. That’s why incorporating art into your wedding day is so enchanting. Art is a way for you to personalize and express yourself for your special day, and it enables you to cherish that day forever. Whether it is live art, a custom crest or map, or a cocktail sign with a portrait of your dog, you will be so happy you asked your Fairy Godmother (aka local artist) to be a part of your magical day!
