Real Moments | Melissa + Adam

By Marianne Moore

May 6, 2023 | Shannon Duggan Photography

From Melissa, “Our engagement at the Trevi Fountain in Rome was such a special moment for us and we thought it would be amazing to bring little pieces of Italy to the wedding. It began with our invitation and the incredible watercolor art by Kate Rademeyer at Love Letter Paper Co. We carried the design through the wedding and reception, including the art on our ‘alfresco’ bar at cocktail hour that served Italian inspired cocktails. Our Trevi fountain art was even included on the lining of Adam’s custom suit jacket.”

“The game of Golf is how we met”, Melissa explains, “so as soon as we took a tour of Old Warson and the golf course as the backdrop of what would be our ceremony location, we knew it was where we wanted to get married. Our planner had the amazing idea to model our place card display on The Masters Leaderboard and Exclusive Events made the idea come to life- it was incredible!  We added another fun nod to the game with our grooms cake-a golf themed cake with the logo of Family Golf and Learning Center, our family business and Adam’s passion- it turned out to be perfect!”

From Adam, “The entire day was just spectacular, with one special moment after another.  To name a couple, the most memorable moment for me was standing in front of our beautiful ceremony, officiated by my Uncle, L’Mont Betz, among our closest family and friends and seeing Melissa for the first time.  She was stunning and glowing like I’d never seen before.  The entire setting and moment couldn’t have been better in any way.  Another special part of our evening would have to be our entrance into the reception.  As we were introduced, we walked through the cheering crowd and straight into our first dance.  We were excited, our guests were excited, the happiness and eagerness to celebrate was undeniable!” Melissa added, “we truly enjoyed every moment of wedding planning. We tried to include our families in all of the fun events. It was very important to us both that in planning our wedding we spent quality time together, which is why we decided to take dance lessons and have our parents join us! Although most of the moves didn’t make it into our first dance it was always a blast going to the lessons. It was time to slow down and enjoy the season of life that we were in.”

“You spend all this time picking out details and envisioning what your wedding will look like. When it’s time for your wedding I think it is time to put all that aside and truly remember what your wedding day is all about. I was so happy that I was finally marrying my best friend that I could hardly be bothered with any of those tiny details. I was very mindful to soak up every second of the (very fast) day and just enjoy each moment. Having a planner you trust helps too!
